Nissan Micra Radio Code by Serial Number
Has your Micra asked for a security code after a flat battery, battery replacement or loss of power? Recover the correct four-digit radio code using the identification details from the original unit.
We cover compatible factory radios fitted to the Nissan Micra K12 and K13, including common Blaupunkt BP units and selected Daewoo, Clarion and Nissan Connect systems.

Which Nissan Micra Radio Do You Have?
Micra radio codes are tied to the radio rather than simply to the car model. This matters because Nissan used more than one audio supplier and a replacement unit may have been installed during the car’s life. Identifying the manufacturer and copying the full serial avoids a lookup based on incomplete information.
Micra K12 Blaupunkt
The most familiar K12 setup is the factory Blaupunkt CD radio. Its casing label normally contains:
- A serial beginning with BP
- Exactly 12 digits after BP
- A separate part number beginning with 7
Micra K13 Daewoo
Some K13 radios use longer manufacturer serials and may require more than one detail.
- DW or DS serial format
- Radio part or model number
- Date from the display or label
Clarion / Nissan Connect
Equipment varies by year and trim. Use the details belonging to the unit actually installed.
- Clarion identification label
- Nissan part number
- On-screen information where available
How to Find the Nissan Micra Radio Serial Number
First check the radio handbook, service folder and any code card supplied with the car. If the code is not recorded there, you will need the radio’s own identification details. Do not rely only on the VIN, especially if the head unit might have been replaced.

Micra K12: reading a Blaupunkt label
Once the radio is safely released from the dashboard, look for the manufacturer sticker on the top or side of the casing. The number needed for identification usually starts with BP and continues with 12 digits. You may also see a ten-digit Blaupunkt part number printed in groups, for example in the form 7 64x xxx xxx.
Copy the BP serial as one continuous number. Do not join the production year, barcode number or part number onto it. If you are unsure which line is required, provide a clear photograph of the complete label rather than guessing.
Micra K13: screen or casing details
K13 equipment is less uniform. Depending on the radio, identification may appear on the casing label or on a locked information screen and can include a long DW/DS serial, part number and date. Copy every character exactly, including letters and leading zeroes.
If your system displays its information only after failed entries, avoid repeated experiments. Triggering additional incorrect attempts can increase the waiting period. Use the details already displayed or send a photograph for identification.
Common Nissan Micra Serial Number Formats
The following numbers illustrate the shape of common Micra radio details. They are examples only and will not unlock your radio.
For Blaupunkt units, the BP number and the separate part number can look similar when printed beside a barcode. A valid BP serial normally contains the BP prefix followed by 12 digits; entering too many or too few digits is a common reason a request cannot be processed.
Nissan Micra Generations Covered
Micra K12 (2002–2010)
Commonly associated with Blaupunkt factory CD radios whose full BP serial is printed on the casing label.
Micra K13 (2010–2017)
May use Daewoo, Clarion or Nissan-branded equipment. Required details depend on the head unit fitted.
Replacement Radios
A factory unit taken from another Micra can still be identified from its own serial; the vehicle VIN may point to the original radio instead.
Later Micra models can use integrated infotainment systems that do not follow the older K12 BP process. Always match the recovery method to the actual radio and its security message.
What “CODE IN” and “WAIT 1 HOUR” Mean
CODE IN
The radio is ready to accept its security code. Enter only a verified code belonging to that serial number. A code from another Micra, even one of the same year, will not necessarily work.
WAIT 1 HOUR
The unit has temporarily locked code entry after one or more incorrect attempts. Leave the radio powered continuously, with the ignition set safely as required, until the entry screen returns. Switching the radio off can restart or pause the countdown on some units.
Keep the vehicle in a safe, ventilated place and ensure the battery is sufficiently charged. Never leave a vehicle unattended with the keys inside. Once code entry returns, use the verified code rather than trying random combinations.
How the Online Micra Radio Code Service Works
How to Enter a Nissan Micra Radio Code
Turn on the ignition and radio and wait for CODE IN or the four code positions to appear. On many Micra K12 Blaupunkt radios, preset button 1 changes the first digit, button 2 changes the second, button 3 changes the third and button 4 changes the fourth. Press each button repeatedly until the correct digit is displayed.
The confirmation control varies between radio versions. Check the label or handbook for the exact unit before confirming; it may use an arrow, OK/ENTER control or a press-and-hold action. Confirm only after all four digits are correct. If your controls do not match this layout, stop and identify the radio rather than applying instructions for a different unit.

Nissan Micra Radio Code FAQ
Can I get a Nissan Micra radio code from the serial number?
Yes. Compatible factory radios can be identified from their serial number. K12 Blaupunkt units normally use the complete BP serial, while K13 radios may also require a part number or date.
Where is the serial number on a Micra K12 radio?
It is normally printed on a manufacturer label attached to the top or side of the radio casing. The unit has to be released far enough for the complete label to be photographed safely.
How many digits should follow BP?
A typical Micra Blaupunkt serial has BP followed by 12 digits. The separate Blaupunkt part number is not an extension of the BP serial.
Can I use the chassis number instead?
The radio serial is more reliable for an online lookup. A VIN may refer to the unit installed at the factory and can be misleading if the radio was changed later.
Why does my Micra radio show WAIT 1 HOUR?
It is a temporary lockout caused by incorrect attempts. Keep the radio powered continuously until the code-entry screen returns, then enter only the correct code.
Does one code work for every Nissan Micra?
No. The code belongs to the individual radio. Another Micra of the same generation can have a different code and even a different radio manufacturer.
Is the Bluetooth PIN the radio code?
No. A Bluetooth PIN pairs a phone with the audio system. The four-digit anti-theft radio code is a separate security credential requested after the unit loses power.
What if my serial does not begin with BP?
Your Micra may have a Daewoo, Clarion, Nissan Connect or replacement radio. Send the complete label or screen details so the correct method can be selected.
